About frickin' time, CCP! have you actually tried playing it on the playstation? It's not going to fare any better on the PC. Dust is rubbish. Nowhere near EVE standards. FPS on console? *ROFLCOPTER* |

Going by the numbers of folk playing DUST, very, very few people care about the game. However, having said that, a version of it on the pc is a brave move to raise the dead on the part of CCP. There are already more people in this thread saying they will play Legion, than there are Dust players. |

Such a nice community. All of them spend far more than $500 on Dust 514 and they are all so passionate. |

If the Movie is called "Lego the Movie" and everything is about Playmobil you would be pissed, wouldnt you? If the EVE Fanfest turns out to be about WoW, then yes. |

Dust forums wrote:So who would love watching me box a Dev? Yea I am going to try and make this work. There is a blown up boxing ring here with gloves, but they look big and just might slip off while I'm punching Twisted
Who wants it? Now complaining that gloves may slip of his little child hands. |

Cheng Musana wrote:Josef Djugashvilis wrote:Cheng Musana wrote:Hmm ive heard that the Devs will try to move the Dust toons onto Legion. Well thats competition destroyed for eve players. if only 100 of the top Dust players will move to Legion then they wil havel a head start of like 50million SP+ (thats if Legion would start today). And we all know that FPS players only play with their lvl of skill. Gonna be interesting to see how a 0SP player (who's mainly a pilot) will hold up against Dust vets.
This will most certainly be problematic cause i still assume that Legion will just be a polished Dust514. And that means the Dust players know how everything work before every 1 else. I say only 2 words: "proto stomping". Sorry, for a moment there I thought you were talking about how some new players feel when they start in Eve and see all the vets with X skill points and knowledge of how the game works. Well on dust you either have proto equipment or you get stomped. There is no other option to it. Noobs that show up in militia gear are getting instantly murdered by vets. it just doesnt matter how good you are when the guy you are shoting has like double or even tripple the HP then you got, he just turns around, shots you a couple of times and thats about it. Oh and if you see a hostile tank dont even bother cause your Anti Vehicle weapons dont even put a dent into that thing if you dont have them maxed out. Dust has big balancing issues where only the vets truly rule over the game. Another thing is quite a decent amount of the dust players actually do use keyboard+mouse cause its supported on the PS3. So the shift from the PS3-PC wouldnt be to big of a problem. And that's the reason why I hope it will be tied with eve subscription or somthing like that. Microtransactions is the worst thing ever invented in video game history. Even worse than console shooters. |

It looks a lot like bf2142 which will certainly gain it a lot of initial interest from players of that era. I know I will at least give it a shot and if it's not any good no skin off my nose. The real question is: if legion becomes popular will CCP take the necessary measures to keep it successful? No. They will shut it down after two years, no matter what. It's meant as a ISK sink to keep the economy stable. |
